Apply for the FinTech Innovation Lab Asia-Pacific Lab 2017! (Application Deadline: 31 May)

Is proud to support

We’ve know your startup could potentially disrupt or enhance the financial services industry.

As a partner of the FinTech Innovation Lab APAC, we wanted to let you know that applications for the FinTech Innovation Lab Asia Pacific 2017 is now open. Would you like to consider your startup amongst applications to this year’s APAC Lab?

During this 0% equity, 12-week mentorship program, Accenture and 18 major international financial institutions will select a group of startups to gain direct access to decision makers in the financial services industry.

Shortlisted companies will get the opportunity to test and develop propositions directly with senior decision makers in the banks, build unrivalled contacts within the industry, and gain significant exposure via the profile of the program globally.

Apply today.

What's new for 2017?

Finalist startups will also have access to the following additional benefits in 2017:

·         Increased exposure and visibility to Senior executives at Accenture: Present your business at the APAC Financial Services Leadership quarterly meeting, to showcase your technology to the team who lead our priority accounts in APAC (selected finalists)

·         A secured spot at the FinTech Finals 2018: 5 minutes on stage to demo in front of 1000 delegates and a panel of world-class fintech experts, and the chance to win the trophy and huge cash prizes (selected finalists)

·         The opportunity to become one of Accenture’s FinTech Go-To-Market partners

·         The opportunity to partner with Accenture Interactive to help speed up your innovation and software development cycles through an open environment

·         A professionally produced 5 minute video featuring your company: to be posted on the FinTech Innovation Lab APAC website and the FinTech Innovation Lab official social channels (including LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook)

·         Be interviewed and featured exclusively on one of FF18’s podcast, to be shared across FF18’s official social media channels

And much more.

But don’t just take our word for it, here is what some of our alumni have said about the APAC Lab:

“Having been involved in a few accelerators I can honestly say that if your thing is an enterprise B2B sales play into banking then the Accenture FinTech Innovation Lab is the goods. You get access to sales people at a level, breadth and volume that many enterprise banking sales people would give away body parts for. Within 60 days of the Lab finishing we had two new deals in two new countries, received fabulous exposure, have been asked to keynote the American Banker Retail Banking conference for 2016 and have doubled our team size. That’s ROI we can bank."
Colin Weir
Founder & CEO, Moroku
(Lab Alumni 2015)

“The track record of the Lab is actually quite phenomenal. If you look at the New York, London and Asia Labs, the mentoring and evolution each start up goes through with the 12 plus financial institutions is quite remarkable. The connections made with senior members in each of the banks is unmatched in any other accelerator in the market.”
Bimal Gandhi
CEO, Uniken (Lab Alumni 2015)

This is definitely something well worth your time if you are serious about the growth of your start up.

Visit the website for more information on this year’s Lab and to apply to the 2017 program.

We look forward to receiving your application!

E-commerce Shakes up the Taiwan Retail Sector

By the maturity and growth of e-commerce, Taiwanese shift to online shopping, traditional merchants are losing business increasingly. The American journalist shares the article after he spent 10 years observing China and Taiwan market. The Taiwan e-commerce market has averaged 10-15% annual growth over the past five years, and the value of sales reached US$34 billion in 2015 (the most recent data available), according to government sources. The average expenditure rose to US$240 in 2015 from NT$210 a year earlier, according to research firm AC Nielsen. Impressively, despite its small market size, Taiwan has the world’s third-highest rate of e-commerce penetration (62%) after the United States (66%) and the U.K. (77%).

Taiwanese tech firms eye Asean online market

A growing number of Taiwanese online firms are choosing Singapore as their base to expand into South-east Asia as Taiwan and its regional rivals compete to snap up talent and become a tech hub. Taiwan's biggest start-up accelerator, AppWorks Ventures, said at least 10 per cent of the 305 start-ups it has helped to nurture since 2011 have ventured into Asean. AppWorks founder Jamie Lin, also chairman of the Taiwan Internet and E-Commerce Association, said: "Tech firms know that we still have the biggest e-commerce market in the region and one of the best brains here. We are seeing a lot more interest in Taiwan and many firms are coming here to do research and development and test their products."
